Information

The official school opening time is 8.50a.m. The Board of Management cannot accept responsibility for children who arrive before the official opening time. Classes commence at 9.10a.m.

Pupils may not leave the school grounds until dismissal time except with the written permission of their parents. Permission will not be granted without a note from parents.

There is a ten minute break at mid-morning and a half-hour lunch break.

The E.U. Milk Scheme is distributed at lunch time. Please plan your child’s lunch with care as it is our experience that a lot of food is wasted by pupils at school.

At 12.30p.m. pupils eat their lunches in their classroom. If the weather is fine they play in the yard for about 20 minutes. Pupils cannot remain in their classroom during this period. They will not be asked to go to the yard during inclement weather.

If, for serious medical reasons, a pupil is advised to remain indoors during the break a note to that effect must be provided to the Principal.

Glass containers are not allowed in school.

Classes end for Junior and Senior Infant Standards at 1.30p.m.

Classes end for all other standards at 2.30p.m.

At Junior Infant and Senior Infant dismissal time, parents/guardians will be invited to collect their children from their classrooms at 1.30p.m.

At dismissal time for all other standards the Teacher will escort pupils to the Front Gates. Parents who wish to have their children escorted home should make their own arrangements and have them met at the Front Gates. The person to escort them should be at the school gate not later than 2.30pm. The Board of Management cannot accept responsibility for looking after children after final dismissal time or for escorting them to or from a bus in the case of children using bus transport from and to the school.

Please use the CAR PARKS when using a car to bring your child to/from school. All children must be accompanied by a parent or escort from the car to the school. Courtesy and patience by CAR PARK users will result in greater safety and better use of time for all.
